Giving to Vesper Point
On behalf of the staff at Vesper Point, I want to thank you for considering giving to Vesper Point. By giving, you are helping to further the mission of our camp to reach more campers for Christ. We can’t thank you enough for desiring to invest in the next generation that is coming through CVP.
I want to highlight the two giving options that we currently have available:
The Rose Scholarship - The Rose Scholarship is a camper scholarship fund that goes directly to help offset a camper’s tuition who may not normally be able to attend camp. Families are invited to apply for scholarship help each summer. A committee of individuals from our camp committee carefully reviews each request. Scholarship funds, which cover a portion of the weekly camp tuition, are awarded to approved campers. The Rose Family Scholarship was created by the children of Mr. and Mrs. John Rose, long-time members of First Presbyterian Church. John and Winnie Rose were strong supporters of Vesper Point and the eternal benefit campers received from their experience at CVP each summer. Winnie spent years encouraging people at camp with her thoughtful words and Biblical teaching. John contributed many hours working on the grounds, building bunk beds and even crafted the cross hanging over the fireplace in the Dining Hall. The Rose family desires to see the ministry of Vesper Point continue to change lives through the message of Jesus Christ.
The Camp Capital Account - Gifts to the camp capital account are used for capital improvements to the property and for future capital project additions. The Vesper Point full-time staff works closely with the camp committee to evaluate needed capital improvements and long-term, mission-centric additions to camp. Examples of long term capital projects are: the construction of additional cabins to increase the number of campers who can attend camp, enhancements to existing cabins to provide year-round retreat usage, high ropes course, needed kayaks and canoes, waterfront equipment, road repairs on camp property, etc.
